At 19 years old, the United States Navy entrusted Robert François-André with operating mission-critical computing systems supporting the World Wide Military Command and Control System during the Cold War. Today Robert is an AI Generalist, Fractional CAIO, Knowledge Architect, and Futurist who helps organizations prepare for the opportunities and challenges of the AI era.
Forty years later Robert is still proving them right. From Shearson Lehman Brothers on Wall Street to Deloitte, ADP and Chemical Bank — from opening and selling two medical rehabilitation centers to building a trucking company — Robert has operated at the highest levels across industries that most people only experience one of.
Robert has also participated in the development, positioning, and commercialization of an AI-powered business platform serving multiple industries — including AI automation, workflow design, content systems, SEO technologies, and go-to-market strategy. That real-world experience evaluating, positioning, and commercializing AI systems is something very few AI consultants have actually done.
He has been reading independently since 1982 — philosophy, history, science, futurism — not for credentials but because he believes life is complex and worthy of study. That 40-year parallel education is what makes him see AI differently than anyone else in this space. Not as a tool. As a civilizational shift.
He founded SOTOU AI in 2022, operates his own private AI system today, and is building a training organization dedicated to developing practical AI Generalists for the modern workforce. His mission is access first: reaching the people who need AI most and are least likely to get it. Robert is also actively exploring how AI can expand educational, economic, and professional opportunities for Haitians and the Haitian diaspora.
